The timing of Pete Rose's admission that he bold faced lied for the past 14 years about his betting on baseball was obviously planned by a Rose publicist for maximum impact to coincide with the Hall of Fame vote.
Eckersley and Molitor, the two inductees from this year, both said they thought it was "bad timing". Pretty much a lot of what Rose does is "bad timing" because it's always just a plan for Pete's Sake!

At the very least, Pete Rose should be forced to wait an equal amount of time to the time it took him reveal his betting history before he is elegible for the Hall of Fame.
So fourteen years from now, I'd make Rose elegible for the Hall. The bigger question now is when can Pete Rose be incorporated back into MJB?
Perhaps Pete Rose should be allowed employable by MJB right away if he agrees to DONATE his entire salary!

Pete Rose should be eligible for the HOF immediately. However he should NEVER be employed by any major league baseball team, nor should he be trotted out by MLB in any ceremonial fashion, for the rest of his life.

What if you asked him to choose, he can get back into baseball but then he would never be inducted into the Hall, or he could be inducted, but then he could never get back into MJB.
I think he'd choose the Hall.
